Sažetak
The paper deals with the use of compensatory strategies in learner talk in the E.F.L classroom. The presence of compensatory strategies in the interlanguage of Croatian learners of English as a foreign language is discovered and analysed. It is concluded that the use of compensatory strategies highly depends on the level of language knowledge and learner age.
