Sažetak
To assess the metabolic underpinning of human depressio, a randomised double blind prospective clinical epidemiological study was designed. Forty elements in the hair and whole blood of human subjects suffering from the major unipolar depression would be compared with the analogous set of elements in the healthy controls. Analytical techniques, quality contro, and statistical considerations are explaind in the full detail. The metabolic fate of every single element would be analyzed separately, and then the more complex multifactorial methods would be applied for identifying possible clusters and interactions.
