Sažetak
This paper claims how the core university civic mission is to effectively educate students in becoming democratic, caring and constructive citizens, contributing significantly to their communities. Based on literature reviews, document analyses and a pilot study, one key finding emerged: civic responsibility and engagement remains completely disregarded at Croatian universities. The paper will serve as an elaboration of a research work whose main goal is to examine the civic mission of Croatian universities on four levels: policy, research, teaching and service. Research results will be used for developing a framework which acknowledges university civic mission.
