Sažetak
Primary purpose of the project Reflecting the Knowledge-based Society in the Context of EU Enlargement is to explore the issues on the labor market restructuring, employment change and skills acquisition in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia and Macedonia. Having in mind that there are existing different views and different experiences from the countries participating in intergration processes, the Institutite of Sociology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia invited Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Department of Economic Theories in Pula to participate in performance of the project as a Partner institution at the beginning of 2006. As it’ s descbribed in the Project’ s overview, this international scientific cooperation should help ‘ bringing together the views from countries on different stages in the EU integration process – Austria (EU-15 Member state), Bulgaria (EU Member Candidate) and Croatia and Macedonia (EU Associate countries) and fitting togheter the ongoing research on work, education, labour market and inequalities in the institutions cooperating within this project’ . Four years ago a group of the FET researchers completed their research activities on the scientific project Human Potentials and Reconstruction of the Croatian Economy (1996 – June 2002). The project was very successful, bringing to the Croatian and foreign scientific public opportunity to realize how complex social problems Croatia do have in that period of reconstruction and development. More than 120 references were published. Few conference papers were presented at different international conferences in Croatia and abroad bringing to the team members new possibilities for dissemination of aquired knowledge. Joining this Project as the partner institution, the Faculty of Economics and Tourism in Pula expand collaboration activities with a new dimension: scientific cooperation. The primary objective that the Faculty has in this context is to exchange different research practices being a part of further scientific network.
