Sažetak
Waste minimization and cleaner production policy are become a decisive factor of the process design allowing potential environmental problem to be avoided rather than remediated. The pollution of wastewater as well as the production costs could be significantly decreased by optimization of process (1). Reactive dye production wastewater is strongly coloured due to the high solubility of this type of dyes as well as the presence of certain amount of coloured unreacted raw materials and by-products. The manufacturing process of monochlorotriazine reactive dye was studied using the certain anthraquinone reactive blue as a model. TLC technic for separation of raw materials, structurally related intermediates and products was used. A series of 12 chromatographic systems has been evaluated using chemometry, and has been established that the most favorable mobile phase for TLC of the investigated compounds is chloroform : isopropyl alcohol : ammonium hydroxide ( 2 : 4 : 1 ) (2). The two step synthesis process monitored using TLC with densitometry resulted in decreased wastewater pollution due to the process optimization.(1) D.T. Allen and K.S.
