The Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development called Our Common Future claims that … The earth is one but the World is not. We all depend on one biosphere for sustaining our lives. Yet each community, each country, strives for survival and prosperity with little regard for its impact on others. .. But we owe future generations at least the same level of welfare that we are enjoying now, and this is called the intergenerational justice. Sustainable development therefore, to put it most simply, is therefore the story of our responsibility for the qulity of life of our sons and daughters, of our grandchildren, that is, of our own living biological and culturological future.
