Sažetak
On the sample of 1356 children, aged 7 to 9, from Slavonic region in Croatia, six motoric variables were observed. The sample was divided in two groups- urban (726) and rural (630), and each of them was divided according to gender and age- school grades. The aim of the study was to determine the differences in motoric abilities of children from urban and from rural areas. By the application of t- test and two- factor multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), the significant difference in motoric abilities was determined. Results clearly suggest that the group of rural and the group of urban population show significant difference in all observed abilities: explosive, repetition and static strength, coordination, flexibility and speed (agility). The T-test also determined differences in motoric abilities that are more expressed in the1st and the 2nd grade. Obtained differences suggest the conclusion that children of the urban Slavonic areas, compared to the children of rural areas, have motoric abilities that are more developed.
