Sažetak
There is a striking similarity between speech acts and intentional states. The "propositional contents" of desires and requests have similar direction of fit: world-to-mind direction of fit of desires corresponds to world-to-word fit of commands. The same holds for beliefs and assertions: it is mind and word that should comply with the world, and not vice versa. Furthermore, (still rare) approaches to logical modelling of desires and imperatives tend to rely on similar relational structures. Most prominently the "semantics equals pragmatics" hypothesis of dynamic semantics (i.e. the utterance meaning lies in its potential to change hearer’ s mental state) strongly suggests the need for connecting the logic of speech acts and logic of intentional states. On the conceptual level, the author will discuss selected issues concerning interconnected, "two-level" modal logics: dynamic logic (with requests treated as programs) and multi-modal logic for intentional states (with beliefs and desires treated as "inputs" and "outputs").
