Sažetak
The paper presents results of numerical work on modeling sea hydrodynamics around th ediffuser section of Split submarine outfall (southern Croatia). Special attention has been paid to analysis of sea current patterns in vicinity of the sea mountain located approx. 2, 5 km wesward to the planned location of the outfall's diffuser section in the Brac Channel. As some measured oceanographic data indicated slight possibility of local upwelling occurence in the wastewater discharge zone, it was deemed important to model hydrodynamic situations that are supposedly critical for vertical transport of wastewater plume toward the sea surface in the mixing zone. Summer hydrodynamic coinditions were considered particularly interesting, as in such situations the danger of surface transport of wastewater mixture toward coastal recreationsl zones is at its highest.
