The goal of the association of Danube Regions is to foster international cooperation in the Danube Basin and thus to initiate the development of economy, traffic, regional planning, tourism, culture, science and environment preservation. The geopolitical and economic importance of the Danube Basin determines the essential economic and political interests of the Republic of Croatia in participating in such associations.
