Sažetak
Davor Vujčić, Poljan (Zagreb, 2007): Artresor naklada/Akademija likovnih umjetnosti. Pp. 176, colour and black-and-white illustrations. Summary in English. Medals and plaquettes on pp.41-44, 125, 128-129, 134, 145. « ; Josip Poljan was born in Zagreb on 24 Nov. 1925. Studied sculpture the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts with Frano Kršinić as his first teacher in 1944/45. During the second and third years of study he worked with Vanja Radauš, then returned to Kršinić. His art history professors were Ljubo Babić, Zdenko Vojnović and Andro Vid Mihičić. Poljan graduated in 1949, and specialized with Antun Augustinčić, becoming professor himself in 1951. Worked as sculptor and teacher: 1951-61 at the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb, 1961-1981 at the Academy of Paedagogy, also in Zagreb. From 1978 professor at the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts, whose dean he was twice, between 1987 and 1991. Retired in 1996. Since 1953 has exhibited on hundred-odd collective and ten solo exhibitions. Besides sculpture he also likes modelling medals, drawing, executing stained glass windows. Has made many public monuments, but the bulk of his work belongs to religious themes. Such are present in many churches in Croatia and Bosnia/Herzegovina.
