Sažetak
The application of conventional lifetime prediction methods requires some knowledge about the stress-strain response of a material to the applied load, which preferably should be simulated by an appropriate constitutive model. The empirical SRM rule of lifetime prediction in the creep-fatigue interaction regime has been supported with Chaboche’ s viscoplastic constitutive model. The suitability of this couple to extrapolate life predictions to various load cycling conditions other than those of the few fatigue tests required for the calibration of the SRM rule has been shown on the example of IN 738 LC superalloy. An inherent criterion of validity of a given prediction has been defined.
