Sažetak
Croatia has a range of rickettsial diseases that include typhus group rickettsiae (Rickettsia typhi), spotted fever group rickettsiae (R. conorii, R.akari), and Q fever (C. burnetii). Although no cases of epidemic typhus has been reported recently in Croatia, we should be aware of the possibility of reemergence of this disease. Our knowledge of rickettsiae is expanding with the recognition of other rickettsiae (R.slovaca, R.aeschlimanni) that have not yet been implicated in human pathology in Croatia.
