Sažetak
Novelties from world fairs indicate that the design of furniture and ancillary equipment is closely connected with technical innovations and optimal functionality. Comfort, simple usage and maintenance and full adaptation to the user are major factors in a design of the contemporary human environment. New materials and accompanying technologies are in the function of a rational and responsible use of energy, materials, environment protection and human health, developing into a standard feature of international furniture industry supply sectors. This work is the retrospection of new trends in the furniture industry and of novelties from the area of wood products, metal reinforcements, surface treatment, natural materials as well as accompanying technologies that nowadays unquestionably create new project solutions in area of furniture design, construction and technological processes.
