Sažetak
This paper explores what are decisive organizational and evironmental factors, according to the opinion of managers and executives, taht might change structure and dynamics of the Croatian economy of 1990s and what is the role of information technology in raising competitive opportunities of the Croatian companies. The basic idea of the paper is that managers' understanding of their competitors influences their strategies, and consequently, has impact on the way they shape their environment. The author's finding suggests that there aare three complementary explanations of cognitive differences among managers: industry structure, political and macro-economic system and cultural context.
