Sažetak
Hotel enterprises have appeared on the global market. These dynamic and vital enterprises need to be capable of responding quickly to the requirements of guests. The basis of their success in adapting to new conditions is the implementation of information and communication technology (ICT). The hotel business is an information-intensive activity. The place and the function of ICT in the business strategy of a hotel enterprise determine the enterprises performance, success and its competition factor on the world market. A strategy to implement ICT in a hotel business is a part of the business strategy of each hotel enterprise. Therefore the goal of this research is to establish the level of investment by Croatian hotel enterprises in ICT, as well as to determine the application of the technology, and its integration into hotel operations. We shall answer the main question: Does the existing ICT satisfy the needs of managers in decision-making? The questionnaire analyses the general level of the information systems and their use in Croatian hotel enterprises, by using quantitative methods and producing final research results.
