Sažetak
Urbanization has been one of the dominant trends of economic and social change since the second half of the 20th century. Undoubtedly the information and communication technologies have become the basis of the post-industrial society. The research done in this paper is oriented towards the application of developed methodology (projects under the European Commission - KAREN, FRAME, INTRAMUROS, CIVITAS) as well as research and consistent defining of all the relevant theoretical assumptions and factors of the urban intelligent transport system (UITS) according to the functions that an urban transport system has to provide especially integrated information system - information aspect - part of the ITS architecture.
