Sažetak
In this contribution the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) Method is applied to analysis of plate and shell structures. Discretization is carried out by the nodes located on the upper and lower surfaces. A concept of a three dimensional solid, allowing the application of complete 3-D constitutive models, is used. The governing equations are derived from the local symmetric weak form of the 3-D equilibrium equations over a local sub-domain surrounding a couple of nodes. Discretization is performed using simple polynomial functions in the transversal direction, while the Moving Least Square (MLS) approach is employed for approximation of the unknown variables in the in-plane directions. Both fully displacement and mixed formualtions are proposed. In contrast to the fully displacement approach, the strains and displacements are approximated independently by using same interpolation schemes in the mixed formulation.
