Sažetak
Glass microscope slide were submerged into stream water at 7 microlocations for 30 to 100 days to study the dinamics of microphyte colonisation. Periphyton growth was analyzed and 178 species of lower plants were determinated with Bacillariophyta as a dominant group. The obtained results indicate the complex interaction of several factors responsible for tufa formation. In addition to physico-chemical and geological factors, the qualitative composition and density of the microphytes community seems to be major importance in the process of calcite precipitation.
