Sažetak
The incidence of haematologic findings in 150 consecutive untreated patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) and the correlation of haematologic disorders with histologic finding and immune origin of the lymphoma tissue was analysed at the Clinic for Internal Diseases KB -Dr. O. Novosel, bivariant method being used for the last. According to Klel classification low-grade malignancy NHL was diagnosed In 96 patients and high-grade malignancy NHL in 54. According to the immune finding of lymph node, 115 patients had NHL of B-cell (B-NHL), and 35 of T-cell origin (T-NLH). A higher erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was found in 69% of the patients with NHL, anaemia in 64% of the patients and reticuloytosis in 74%. 11% of the patients had trombocytopenia and another 11% had trombocythaemia. Leukopenia was found In 36% of the patients, and lymphoytosls ranged from 2.6 to 4.8 X 109/L in 17% of the patients. Greater number of lymphocytes (> 2.5 X 10/l) is significantly more often found in patients with B-NHl than in those with T-NHl (p < 0.01). lymphopenia (lymphocytes < 1.2 X 109/l) Is significantly more often lound in patients with T-NHl (p < 0.01) and in patients with high-grade malignancy NHL (p < 0.05). The analysis of the varinance showed a statistically significant correlation of lymphocytes total in the peripheral blood with coincident histologic and immune finding of the lymph node (p < 0.02). Conclusion is that the most frequent haematologic disorders are higher ESR, anaemia and reticulocytosis. Greater total number of lymphocytes is more frequent in patients with B-NHL, while lymphopenia is more frequent finding in patients with high-grade malignancy NHL and T-NHL.
