Sažetak
The traffic network and the infrastructure, in the Croatian Adriatic touristic destinations, are insufficient during the summer season. Rare parking places are in the conflict with the increasing traffic demand. There is not enough space for open parking places and there are not at all parking garage buildings too. The results of the described situation are the conflicts between parked cars, pedestrians, bicycles and other traffic flow of mobile cars and other vehicles, specially in the uptowns. The problem is evident in the middle size cities and even more in the small seaside places where it increase. To solve this problem, it is important to research the complex relationship between the touristic demand and the possibilities of the local administration in relation with the space capacities. Theoretically, solutions are known, but the solutions in local circumstances can be find in different ways with the respect for the local characteristics. The most important goal is to achieve the balance between the demands and possibilities in technical, economical, social and environmental part of view. A few different possible access are presented as the examples in this paper. There are examples of the access in the two seaside cities of the middle size like Rijeka and Zadar, as well as in the smaller places of the northern Adriatic coast and islands like Rovinj, Opatija, Novigrad, Krk, Mali Lošinj, Rab and some others. The explored vision of the solutions for the described parking problems and the experiences of mentioned touristic destinations can help to define the policies that can be applied by them in the future. This is one of the main goals of this paper.
