Sažetak
Tourist destination is a term of multiple importance, but its objective is to always ensure quality conditions of stay and of other services to and a quality existence to residents as well. Optimal tourist services are achieved through an optimal combination of quality and quantity factors, among which sufficient and appropriately located parking space, in combination with adequate capacity of other objects of traffic infrastructure appears as one of the most important factors. The solution of the parking areas problem requires a complex approach which must involve: the finding out of sufficient parking space in the immediate vicinity of tourist facilities, the regulating of cargo vehicles toward objects of traffic infrastructure outside the tourist destination and the organising of pedestrian traffic and moving traffic according to the parking areas. The approach to the problem of parking areas and the way of its solution is elaborated on the example of one of the most famous and oldest tourist destinations in the Republic of Croatia – Opatija.
