Sažetak
Photoacoustic spectroscopy is a relatively new approach to matter detection. It is based on the quantum mechanics phenomena of light to matter energy transfer and the subsequently release of that energy in a form of a unique patters. As the pattern of energy can be associated with a particular substance, photoacoustic spectroscopy is ideally suited for quick matter detection. Only recently has this technique started being employed in food research, and one of its most recent uses has been associated with food powders. More then 500 million people depend on cassava and its products for there daily energy intake. As it was always been associated with the developing world, predominantly Africa, research into it did not develop as fast as did research in other, major world food sources. Combining photoacoustic and cassava research has the potential to develop quick and effective ways of detection and quality control.
