Sažetak
Globalization with its focus on free movement of capital, technology, goods and services has had profound effects on all aspects of human life.It has resulted in many positive and negative changes.As an unstoppable phenomenon it presents opportunities to those who are prepared and threats to those who are not.Therefore, the crucial question is how to protect and promote our national interests.Well-designed country policies and programmes with clear development strategies in traffic are of a great importance.The development strategies in traffic should be ready to meet the rising demands in the race to be and remain competitive in the process of globalization.At the top of the list of challenges our country faces is the need to effectively integrate new transport technology and information system, to improve safety, efficiency and productivity of transport system. Croatia already has clear European prospects keeping in mind that transport infrastructure plays an important role in connecting regions. The future of our country will depend on its ability to meet the challenges of globalization, as well as on its skill to achieve the right balance and pace of adjustment.
