Sažetak
This paper explores and highlights the importance of high education evaluation in Croatia in terms of globalization and world tourism trends, especially in the light of the future integration of Croatia in the European Union. The first part of the paper emphasizes the importance of high education for tourism and hospitality industry for Croatian economic development, especially in the process of entering the European Union. A special accent is given to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija, as the only high education institution entirely dedicated to education of managers and professionals in tourism and hospitality industry. The second part of the paper deals with evaluation and its importance in creating an effective and capable high education process.
