Sažetak
The thrips fauna in Croatia was investigated from 1993-1996 on 111 localities and 235 different plant species from 44 plant families. Thrips sampling was done on agricultural crops, plants in the garden, flowers, channels, meadows, bushes and forest. On the base of 1058 permanent slides it was estimated that suborder Terebrantia cover 71% and Tubulifera 29% of the samples. The thrips species determined in the investigation belong to the tree families Aeolothripidae, Thripidae, Phleothripidae. The most abundant thrips species was Frankliniella intonsa. The species was present on 32% of examined samples, on 29 plant families, mainly on Asteraceae (13 species) and Fabaceae (14 species), followed by Brassicaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Rosaceae, Lamiaceae, Rununculaceae. Raspudić (1996) found out 6 species describe them for the firs time in Croatia. The new species, recorder for, the first time in Croatia are: Aeolothrips melaleucus (Haliday, 1852), Oxythrips bicolor (O.M. Reuter, 1879), Stenothrips graminum Uzel, 1895, Thrips linarius Uzel, 1895, Liothrips vaneeckei Priesner, 1920 and Poecilothrips albopictus Uzel, 1895.
