Sepsis is defined as a syndrome of systemic inflammatory response caused by infection. Infections of the female pelvis constitute diverse group of both community- and hospital-acquired infections. They are conveniently considered in three categories: sexually transmitted pelvic inflammatory disease ; infections related to pregnancy (including septic abortion, antepartum pyelonephritis and puerperal sepsis) ; and infection following gynecological surgery. ...
