Sažetak
It is known that the knowledge is the key factor of progress and development for every profession, individual, and as such, for the collective society as well. In order to compete with developed touristic countries, it is immanent to perceive the meaning of education, training, as well as the fact that no already accomplished level of education can be produce sufficient knowledge throughout the whole life of a certain individual. To be able to offer a quality service in the field of rural tourism, the certain theoretic and practical knowledge is of immense value. The majority of rural population, which has conditions and ambition for the development of some typse of rural tourism, does not posses an adequate knowledge for such an achievement. For that reason, there is a need for planning and organization of specific training and education of those offering services of rural tourism. The authors of this dissertation suggest, according to the fruits of academic researches, various types, methods and places of training of rural population of Istria, in order to proliferate the knowledge of which types of rural tourism services are they capable to develop, how to communicate with consumers and markets, as well as how to fully satisfy their needs.
