Sažetak
The aim is to examine Kant's notion of the transcendental unity of self-consciousness through the use of first-order logic and naturalistic epistemology. The argument is as follows. First, Kant's mentalistic idiom is replaced with linguistic idiom: instead of representations, sensations, intuitions, etc. I refer to the linguistic forms of English and of the language L of first-order logic. Secondly, these linguistic forms are analyzed by means of first-order logic in a manner that is parallel to Kant's analysis of representations. In the conclusion, it is maintained that the formal structure presented by the unity of self-consciousness remains intact also under the linguistic and extensional presuppositions, and that it, moreover, includes some essential features of first-order logic.
