Sažetak
The measure of relative success or failure of the transition process is the rate of growth and the growth prospects. Assuming that macroeconomics are put in the right place and economic policy measures enable stability and liberalization, then according to theory and practical evidence the fundamentals for growth have been established. The greater the stability and the higher the rate of liberalization the higher the growth rate. it is evident that Croatia has not reached the high growth rates yet, and analytical findings according to ten basic criteria discussed in this paper lead to the conclusion that the government was not ready to define a clear and consistent growth strategy. Unless this is not going to be done soon, prospects for targeted growth rates will remain in the domain of wishful thinking only.
