Sažetak
An average of 88.0 kWh for each 1 t of stored alfalfa is spent on drying in the field and in horizontal fan dry-kilns by surrounding air. In the field energy expenditure is 80.7 kWh or 91.8% per 1 t and in a dry-kiln 7.3 kWh or 8.2%. The least energy is spent in the phase of piling up the hay (4.5 kWh), and the most is spent while mowing by rotary mower (31.8 kWh for 1 t of stored hay). For drying in the field and a dry-kiln with a combination of surrounding and preheated air, energy expenditure is 202.9 kWh on average. In the field the energy cost is 87.9 kWh per 1 t of hay or 43.3% while in dry-kilns it is 115.0 kWh or 56.7% of the total energy.
