Sažetak
The risk for postoperative PLE is significantly related to the complexity of the heart malformation, older age at Fontan operation, long standing previous pulmonary artery banding, high postoperative ventricular end-diastolic pressure and turbulent flow in the postoperatively dilated right atrium. Surgical implications to avoid PLE Early FO, especially with prior PAB, undelayed reopperation in selected patiens to correct obstruction RA-PA anastomosis, to decrease size of RA and to decompress pulmonary venous blood return or to convert to total cavopulmonary connection or fenestrated in order to restore laminar blood flow.
