Sažetak
Objective: To analyze number of successfully taken fine needle aspiration (FNA) lymph node samples from patient with lymphadenopathy.Material and methods: Material were fine needle aspirates of lymph nodes from 245 patients through the period of four years with persistent unknown lymphadenopathy who has been admitted for diagnostic procedure and patients with already known diagnosis of malignant lymphadenopathy B- cell etiology who has been admitted for evaluation of therapy treatment. Clinical diagnosis of malignant lymphadenopathy (B cell neoplasm) was based on cytomorphology characteristics of lymph node cells and histology verification of lymph node. Efficacy of FNA lymph node sample for immunophenotyping was made after isolation on density gradient before marking with specific monoclonal antibody. Analysis was done on lymphocyte cell population (specific cell population). Acceptable and minimal number of cells from lymph node sample was made with maximal control of gates around specific cell population. Results: Efficacy of FNA samples for flow cytometry analysis is very high, that means only 18, 6 % FNA insufficient samples were collected and 81, 4 % of samples were adequate. During the period of four years (from 2000-2003.) 2000. - 16 %, 2001.- 22 % , 2002.- 22% and 2003 .- 12 % of all taken FNA samples of lymph nodes were inadequate. Conclusion: Cytology FNA of lymph node as a source for immunophenotyping procedures is very reliable and precise method of diagnostic choice.
