Sažetak
Since 2005, Croatia is a State Party of UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. However, it has a long history of safeguarding, which in recent decades has advanced in terms of respecting processes, emic categories, plurality, exchanges and/or blurred borders between traditions and communities, and, in turn, has led towards the decentralization of safeguarding measures. It seems that the age of the Convention is reversing the course towards re- centralization, compartmentalization and neo-conservatism with regard to heritage. This argument is exemplified by two musical projects that have been proposed for the international and, respectively, national list of intangible cultural heritage.
