Sažetak
Nitric oxide (NO) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of migraine and administration of its exogenous donor glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) represents a widely accepted "migraine model". Our investigation emphasizes the role of NO in the pathogenesis of migraine attack and increased blood-brain barrier permeability. This study indicated that this mechanism of action is conserved to lower vertebrates and is consequently considered very important.
