Sažetak
We were investigating whether mammalian epidermis which differentiates in embryo culture in vitro retains the ability to give rise to skin appendages in a richer environment in vivo. Epidermis differentiated only after 14 days of culture and was mostly terminally differentiated. Only after subsequent grafting of cultured explants under the kidney capsule skin appendages (hair and sebaceous glands) differentiated. So far no difference in their incidence related to previous medium supplementation or culture period was discovered. It seems that developmental potential of epidermis to give rise to skin appendages was not harmed by previous culture in serum-free and protein-free medium.
