Sažetak
The effect of acidosis induced by the oral appli¬ ; cation of NH4C1 on the activity of glutamic acid dehy-drogenase (GLD), p-hydroxybutyric acid dehydroge-nase (p-OH-BD), isocitric acid dehydrogenase (ICD), and glucose-6-phO'Sphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) was studied in the mouse placenta by using histochemical methods. GLD, p-OH-BD, and G-6-PD activities proved to be intensified in the cells of the basal part of the trophoblast, in the spongiotrophoblast and in the decidua. The activity of ICD did not differ from that in the control group. The findings recorded suggest an important role of the placenta in the regulation of the acid-base balance established by the same mechanisms as tho'se observed in the kidney.
