Sažetak
Due to its exceptionally convenient traffic and geographical location Croatia stretches across European major traffic corridors, such as VII European (Danubian) corridor connected with the Adria through Vb, Vc and X (Sava) corridors. Croatian existing traffic system neither satisfies current technical requirements nor the economic needs, and has not used convenient preconditions to join the European network and conform technically with it. The navigation on the Danube has a great future, particularly the international transport along the Danube region-the Adriatic combined river and railway traffic corridor from Vukovar to Rijeka. The Danube region-the Adriatic combined river and railway traffic corridor would consist of future Danube-Sava multi-purpose canal between Vukovar and Šamac, an arranged navigable way on the river of Sava from Šamac to Sisak, and already existing Sisak-Zagreb-Rijeka railway. For some time it will have enough capacity for the handling of goods from the navigable way. The paper deals with three potential scenarios for the traffic corridor’ s river part. The I development scenario encompasses a trained river of Sava of the IVrd navigation class from Jamena to Sisak, then II development scenario scheduling a trained river of Sava of the IV navigation class from Šamac to Sisak with the Danube-Sava Vb navigation class, and the III development scenario scheduling the canalized river of Sava of the Vb class from Šamac to Sisak with Danube-Sava Vb navigation class. The paper deals with economic aspects, further with navigation, hydroengineering system, ecologic, agricultural, forestry and water managing aspects. For each scenario technical, economic and water management solutions are provided. According to costs and usages scheduled by scenarios, the analysis of investments, revenue and expenses estimations and financial assessment was conducted. The paper handles analysis containing several criteria, and provides a scenario to be realized.
