Sažetak
The process of implementation of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages started in Croatia a couple of years ago. The European Language Portfolio and Language Passport are translated to Croatian and language teachers have been trained in their application. However, the scope of application of CEFRL in Croatia is still limited to teaching foreign languages, whereas its application in teaching of Croatian as L2 is somehow left aside. The interest for learning Croatian as L2 has been growing rapidly over the last decade and the number of schools offering Croatian L2 courses is growing accordingly. These courses differ from each other not only in number of classes per week or semester and teaching methods being used, but more significantly they differ in levels they offer, their description, syllabus and assessment. When we take into consideration Croatian L2 courses taught abroad, the picture becomes even more complex. In order to standardize teaching of Croatian as L2 and make it comparable to teaching of other foreign languages, CEFRL should be applied to Croatian L2 as well. In this workshop we will focus on application of CEFRL in Croatian L2 courses. Two different courses, both at the university level, will be analyzed and their characteristics will be discussed. The problems of CEFRL application will be discussed with regard to the language itself and with regard to each course. The special emphasis will be put on the assessment of Croatian as L2.
