Sažetak
One of the ways of the species interaction is when individuals of one taxon produce a compound that has an adverse effect on the reproduction, distribution, feeding and life cycles of individuals of the other taxon. In our examinations, we described the interaction between Microcystis aeruginosa and Cryptomonas ovata cultures. We worked with C. ovata control cultures, M. aeruginosa control cultures and so-called mixed cultures (these contain C. ovata and M. aeruginosa too). The mixed culturescontained C. ovata and M. aeruginosa cells in the ratio 1:50, 1:25 and 1:1. We followed the changes of the cell numbers and protein levels of cultures. The results proved that growth of cell numbers of M. aeruginosa evoked the fall of the cell numbers of C. ovata. Not only M. aeruginosa affects C. ovata, but the effects were mutual. In those M. aeruginosa control cultures that contained low initial cell number the cells died, but in the mixed cultures of ratio 1:2 and 1:1 8in which the initial cell number were similar) the cells not only survived, but they grew futher. So examining the interaction between these algae, we can say, that the effects of these two species are mutual, because in some cases C. ovata helps to alive the cells of M. aeruginosa.
