Sažetak
"EU Accession and Croatian Rural Competitiveness" was presented at the ICES 3rd International Conference "From Transition to Sustainable Development: The Path to European Integration" in Sarajevo, October 12-12, 2006. It was well received and published in the conference proceedings. This review is a summary of the paper, general observations, and the questions and comments discussed during and after the presentation. Its conclusion is that there is a surprising amount of interest among economists in agricultural and rural issues, in the competitiveness of Croatian agriculture, more research into competitiveness in rural areas should definitely be encouraged and presented more often, to wider audiences.
