Sažetak
Every year, traffic injured and fatality rates increase worldwide. The combination of negligent and imprudent drivers, adverse road and weather conditions produce tragic results with dramatic loss of life. In this scenario, the use of mobile robotics technology onboard vehicles could reduce these fatalities. Aiming to bring technologies and algorithms developed in the field of mobile robotics to commercial vehicles and passenger cars, this paper presents the state of art on car-like mobile robots and highlights some researches developed at the Autonomous Systems Lab at EPFL and ETHZ in Switzerland. In the end we concluded, presented and commented the results obtained up to now as well as the research outlooks. This research aims to contribute for investigations on assistive and autonomous technologies onboard vehicles.
