Sažetak
Belonging to the European environment, answering to needs for multilingual international communication, tools and resources for machine translation (MT), computer-assisted translation (CAT) and e-language learning (eLL) of Croatian language should be developed, according to EU standards and as a result of international expert team project. After presenting EU demands (number of pages, short deadlines, CAT literacy, common resources, data sharing, short deadlines, expenses), need for integration of Croatian modules into MT/CAT and eLL has been presented. Already existing models would be applied such as statistical, example-base and rule-based machine translation, techniques for building translation memories and terminology resources, as well as existing models for integration of multimedia materials, tests and other resources for e-language learning. Results of this project could be used to facilitate and speed up multilingual communication, to enable language learning, but also to preserve language diversity, to promote international cooperation and to develop basic components in information society by adding one more language for the purpose of MT/CAT and eLL.
