Sažetak
In its broadest sense, the term crown structure refers to the size and form, growth and development of the crown, its physical distribution and distribution in time and its proportions in relation to other tree parts. Inspecting the regularitity patterns among particular stand structure elements, i.e. determination of analytical expression (regression model) represents a significant research area. With an aim of finding the most objective manner of monitoring the stand development, it is necessary to determine the following: form and intensity of correlation among particular elements of crown structure (diameter, length, area, space occupied and crown form, index of standing area and crown development) and d.b.h., how these correlations change with the increase of d.b.h and stand age, the most adequate leveling function, i.e. regression model. All the variables are intercorrelated and the form of analytical connection and their connection have been determined. Regression analysis has been carried out by straight line and exponential function because the average images of the phenomenon could be well characterised by one of the stated functions on the majority of graphs. Digital models of crown projections and vertical stand profiles for six age classes were elaborated by the application of digitalisation. Visual-digital three-dimensional crown development model with specific assessed trees has been made. Selected regression functions obtained on such a representative data sample (47 experimental plots on an area of 33, 45 ha and 14 562 trees measured on the field), especially in our era of the application of computers, can be applied in practice as a function model.
