Sažetak
The identity and distribution of endemic species of the genus Iris in Croatia have been defined. By the methods of comparative taxonomy of living plants from whole Croatia as well as herbarium specimens, by field-work researches and analysis of literature data, presence of five endemic species of the genus Iris in Croatia has been established: I. adriatica Trinajstić ex Mitić, I. croatica I. Horvat et M. Horvat, I. illyrica Tomm., I. pseudopallida Trinajstić and I. rotschildii Degen. I adriatica and I. rotschildii are stenoendems and the others are subendems. The possible sixth (sub)endemic taxon, could be Iris sibirica L. subsp. erirrhiza (Pospichal) Wraber, whose taxonomical status is under investigation. The results concerning the revision of the nomenclature, taxonomic problems and the chorology of Croatian endemic irises are presented. Their distribution maps have been done on the basis of fieldwork researches, literature and herbarium data (ZA, ZAHO, LJU, WU, W, BP, BPU, PAD, TSM), by the method of indirect MTB mapping.
