Sažetak
Nuclear, biological and chemical weaponry is the most callous of all arms. It is designed to terrify as well as annihilate. Regardless of who makes use of it, it is capable of causing greater and more horrible damage than any other conventional arms, with consequences being long-standing. So long as such arms, in particular nuclear, continue to exist, others will want it thus creating the real danger that it someday may be used with or without intent. Data concerning the global quantity of nuclear weaponry has reached alarming proportions from which a majority may be used. An attack of mass destruction has the potential to eradicate a multitude of populace consequently leaving a long-term visible aftermath both in the populace and environment. Such a situation forced the Independent International Commission for Arms for Mass Destruction, lead by Hans Blixom, to take charge of this problem. Upon a two-year study, the commission brought numerous concrete suggestions as to how the world would eradicate nuclear, biological and chemical weaponry. This study was gathered and presented in the report, “ Weapons of Terror” , which analyzes threats under which today's world lives in. What is particularly terrifying is that an alarming 27000 pieces of nuclear weapons may be used by sources stemming from single states to terrorist groups, and more alarming is the fact of the reality of other types of arms of mass destruction which is available for use. The report especially discusses and analyzes how threats and risks are carried out, a case in point analysis of Iran and various other Middle East countries, North Korea, India and Pakistan.
