Sažetak
Academic literature suggests that the design of web-based systems differs from the development of information systems on account of the significant differences in their characteristics. Accordingly, to cover many aspects of web/hypermedia system design, new web/hypermedia development methods have been proposed. In order to explore web/hypermedia design and development practice, and also the usage of those specific methods, studies have been conducted in many developed countries. However, no study has previously been conducted in Croatia or in any transitional country. This paper provides the findings of an exploratory survey conducted to profile Croatian web designers/developers, to explore the characteristics of their projects, and to identify the development process and the activities and methods used in the development of web/hypermedia systems.
