Sažetak
Reactive powder concrete (RPC), an ultra-high-strenght (from 200 to 800 MPa) cementitious composite, with advanced mechanical properties, superiour physical characteristics, excellent ductility properties, very low porosity and extremla low permeabeality, opened up hopes that this material cuold be used for new bridges located in the aggressive Adriatic Littoral environment. This paper describes the research relating to the first prestressed Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) beam in Croatia. The research was undertaken at the Faculty of Civil Engineernig in Zagreb, with several 4m span beams being produced in the Viaduct company plant in Pojatno. The below described research, as well as the presently ongoing one, shall give us the necessary know-how to design and build the first prestressed RPC bridge structure.
