Sažetak
The paper presents the importance and procedures of displacement and strain measurements in experimental testing of bridges. During these procedures structure is loaded according to certain phases, while displacements, strain, rotation angles, dynamic characteristics, temperature etc. are measured by means of geodetic and physical methods. The analysis of the results should help in defining whether the discrepancies in measured and theoretical displacement are significantly different for various types of structures. Detailed testing results will be indicated for 4 important bridges built lately in Croatia. These bridges are different types of structures and are built from different materials. Results and comparison of theoretical and experimental displacements values for these four bridges are presented in this paper, as well as comparison of maximal values of displacemnts for about twenty other bridges.
