Sažetak
Accelerated photo and thermo oxidative degradation (accelerated weathering) of low density polyethylene/linear low density polyethylene (LDPE/LLDPE) greenhouses film was performed and the impact on their properties during reprocessing was studied. Samples exposed to UV irradiation for varying periods of time and additional ageing for 8 hours at 70°C of samples were taken. Further, samples were reprocessed in a Brabender plasticorder with and without stabilizer Recyclostab 411. The evolution of changes in chemical structure, rheological and mechanical properties accompanying the gradual degradation of the LDPE/LLDPE films was followed and evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry, DSC, FTIR, melt flow rate, MFR and tensile test. The results show deterioration of properties after UV irradiation, thermal treatment and mechanical recycling process of LDPE/LLDPE films, but enhanced properties of the studied samples is obtained due to effect of the added stabilizer. The stabilizer introduced during the simulated recycling process act as extender of the polymeric chains due to reaction of polymeric radicals.
